Hi there, I’m Marisa.
I'm an editor and a writer and I spend my days working for a non-profit in New York.
I live with my husband John and we bought our first house last summer. There are no outlets in the bathrooms, the wallpaper in the kitchen is three-layers thick, and the shades in the bedroom are straight from 1963. But we found two old typewriters in the basement and I like to think that’s fate. We kind of love it here.
In the fall of 2014 we welcomed our first baby, a cute little dude named Luca. He makes every day more fun.
This photo is from our last trip to Italy. I spent most of my summers growing up in southern Italy, hanging out in two small towns with my grandparents, surrounded by cousins and friends and a culture I simultaneously knew and didn't know. It was sort of like summer camp. And it changed everything.

I’ve been blogging on and off since 2001, for myself and for a few different publications. I use this space primarily to record the things happening in my life, to make a mental and physical memory of them.
I hope you'll hang out for awhile.

All photos on the blog are taken by me, unless otherwise noted and sourced. Please don't take any photos and/or posts without my permission. Especially photos of my kid, because that's just creepy.
