We had dinner at a place called Wuji tonight and though we’ve
ordered takeout from them before, we had never actually been. Turns out they
give you a giant cone of cotton candy with your check. I tried to get a photo
of Luca holding it, but it came out so dark. Needless to say, it made my Friday
a little more fun.
The whole weekend should be fun, actually—we’re seeing one
of our favorite now 2-year-olds tomorrow morning for some apple picking and
then meeting up with our friends from Italy who are here on their honeymoon.
We got home and I fell asleep while putting Luca to sleep—and
reading the same book 3 times—but I managed to wake up for another episode of
Homeland and then some mindless Instagram scrolling.
What I did manage to find this week though, were a couple
good reads:
- Luca waved and got straight to playing with the trucks on the first day of school on Monday. This explains why, at least a little bit.
- I need to figure out a Halloween costume for L and while he's too little for most of these, holy cuteness. That deviled egg costume, tho!
- The issue of guaranteed/paid parental leave is near and dear to my heart, and this piece covers some brief history and lots of what's going on in the election right now.
- And on a bit more of a serious note, this story, The Falling Man, is chilling and gripping and beautifully written all at the same time. (Originally found it over here.)
